New books to mention the Independent Group published recently include Daniel Horowitz, Consuming Pleasures: Intellectuals and Popular Culture in the Postwar World (University of Pennsyvannia Press, Philadelphia, 2012) which accounts for the Group in a positive sense via its relationship with popular culture, which is refreshing. Also just published is Max Risselada (Ed) Alison & Peter Smithson: A Critical Anthology (Ediciones Poligrafa, Barcelona,2011) which is a beautifully produced volume of writing by the Smithsons in its original form plus work by other authors, including Beatriz Colomina. Both are highly recommended.
